NEW - Forest Schools Skills - Using Willow for Weaving and Crafting Activities - Sun March 8th 2026

£100.00

This training day is for anyone working with children in a school or outdoor learning setting who wishes to become more confident with using willow.

Maybe you're a teacher who has undergone forest schools training, or you coordinate your school's ecoclub. You might be a  homeschooler, or have a living willow structure in your outside space and would like to know how to use the willow and when and how to harvest it.

On this course we'll be looking at different ways to use the willow and you'll go away with a bunch of techniques to make things that you'll be confident to replicate with your groups.

In my own experience with installing living willow structures in school grounds, I find that follow on work with staff is valuable, and brings multiple benefits for both staff and pupil enrichment.

I am also available to come into school and work with teachers and teaching assistants, please contact me if you are interested in this.

The course is held at my workshop at GRIT Studios in Stockport, a collective of makers and artists.

Fee includes all materials and tools are provided. It's suitable for beginners and those with previous experience.

The course is 9.30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Hot drinks are provided, please bring lunch.
