Sat 12th and Sun 13th April 2025 - Two Day Basketmaking Course - Round Baskets in Willow

Stake and strand baskets are fluid and allow for plenty of creativity during the building process. On this course you will learn how to weave a round paired base, how to stake it up and then weave the sides using different methods.

We'll be using a variety of basketry willows grown in Somerset, and you'll be able
to complete your basket with a rod or trac border. Depending on the size and shape of your work, you may like to add plaited cordage or willow handles or a strap to your basket.

The course is held at my workshop at GRIT Studios in Stockport, a collective of makers and artists.

Fee includes all materials and tools are provided. It's suitable for beginners and those with previous experience.

The course is 9.30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Hot drinks are provided, please bring lunch.
