Saturday 12th July 2025 - Pouches and Bags in Willow Bark I - Corner Pouches

Willow bark is a beautiful and supple material to work with, surprisingly sturdy, but kind on the hands.

On the course you will learn how to harvest and prepare willow bark and weave a pouch as shown in the photos. You will be able to choose to add a strap or handle.

This technique is different to the basket in Pouches and Bags in Willow Bark II .

You'll find out how and when to gather the willow bark, understand how to prepare and store the material, and weave a basket using different barks and patterns, and also be able to incorporate other materials.

The course is held at my workshop at GRIT Studios in Stockport, a collective of makers and artists.

Fee includes all materials and tools are provided. It's suitable for beginners and those with previous experience.

The course is 9.30 a.m. - 5 p.m. Hot drinks are provided, please bring lunch.
